The Benefits of Enjoying Aromatherapy at Home
As you know, aromatherapy has increased in popularity as a form of alternative medicine. This is largely due in part the natural oils and scents used; there is no harm to our body. Plus, there is no ignoring that amazing smell that is just so hard to put into words.
When it comes to getting the most out of aromatherapy, most men and women simply head to the spa. After all, what better place is there to get a massage with essential oils or undergo a manicure while surrounded by aromatherapy candles and soothing music? This sounds nice, but you can get many of the same benefits from the comfort of your own home.
Here are 3 benefits to enjoying aromatherapy at home:
1 - You Get to Enjoy All the Different Types of Aromatherapy
As previously stated, most of us think of aromatherapy and automatically think of a spa or a retreat. Since many oils are known for their healing properties, oils make the perfect fit for a massage. But you shouldn’t stop there. You can make or buy your own products for baths and skincare.
As previously stated, aromatherapy is becoming a popular form of alternative medicine, but some just love the scent. If you want your home to smell clean, fresh, and natural, go right ahead. You can create your own air freshener by placing your favorite scent into a pot of water and by simmering the fixture on the stove for a couple of hours.
2 - The Affordable Costs
If it wasn’t enough that you can enjoy aromatherapy in more formats at home then at the spa, you can also save money too. Do you know how much a spa visit costs? While many women claim it is worth every penny, you may not have that extra penny to spend. So does that mean that you cannot enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy? No; just do it at home.
As previously stated, you can make your own products. For a skin moisturizer, take your favorite fragrance-free lotion and mix in several drops of your preferred scent! Most importantly, you get more than one use from your homemade mixture.
3 - On Your Own Schedule
When you reap the benefits of aromatherapy at home, you do so on your own schedule. There are no limited spa or retreat hours that you must base your schedule around. You can take a scented bath in the morning, afternoon, or in the middle of the night; the choice is yours!

Once A Month Cooking Tips
Modern women are more than just housewives, housekeepers and cooks. They want to have successful careers, enjoy their lives, have more time for themselves. But that doesn’t mean to affect the way they care of their families. Nowadays, there are plenty of ways to make everyday chores easier and more time-sufficient. All of them have their cons and pros. I don’t want to dwell upon fast and junk food meals, health issues and eating out expenses - everyone knows about it. I just want to share my own experience on cooking time-saving tips. Have you heard of OAMC? Once A Month Cooking. Sometimes it’s referred to as bulk cooking. Or freezer cooking - call it however you want. If you adopt this simple technique, you will only have to cook once a month, literally. And every other day you may enjoy delicious, freshly-made meals without spending time for cooking. Take your meal out of the fridge, put it into the oven for 5 minutes - voila! ready! And this is nothing like pre-cooked microwave meals you buy in supermarkets - high in fat, carbs and devastating for your digestion. They are real home-made meals, both healthy and tasty. Make sure to check this out for a great variety of freezer meals recipes.
But there are several things you need to know before you start your first once-a-month cooking session. You see, just having good freezer recipes is not enough for successful freezer cooking. Believe me, I know it. When I decided to give it a try for the first time, believe me or not, my session turned into a real nightmare. So, over months of trial and error, I developed a number of rules for once a month cooking sessions.
Since you cook about 30 meals during a single day,
decide on a day
that you can devote to cooking only. If an entire day is not possible though, consider cooking at night, when your house is quiet.
monthly meal plan
that will let you know exactly what dishes you need to cook, how much and what ingredients you are going to need for that.
. This step is absolutely crucial, because even if you are not a list-maker and usually do without them, once a month cooking implies extended shopping lists, and leaving something behind can mess up your whole cooking day.
Do your shopping
. Here everything is pretty much clear. But don’t forget to buy freezer bags, foil or containers for your food.
Cook the meals
. Prepare the recipes of every meal you are going to cook, decide on the order of the meals (it’s better to write the plan down), combine the same steps for various meals: chopping vegetables, boiling eggs etc. Leave the meals to cool down.
Freeze the meals
. There are several methods for freezing meals: plastic or foil wraps, freezer bags, reusable containers, vacuum sealers. The latter is the most preferable, since it prevents freeze burns and keeps your food taste fresh for long periods of time. When packing the meals into wraps or bags, make sure your food is fully covered and sealed, so no air can get inside.
This is some advise on a successful bulk cooking session that I hope was useful. For more information on freezer meals, recipes and time-saving tips please visit my blog:
Oolong Tea for Weight Loss
There’s so a lot interest in weight loss and oolong tea (a.k.a. wulong tea) that we are going to take a look at study supporting the connection.
Let’s start at the starting
All tea comes from 1 plant Camellia Sinensis if it doesn’t come from that plant it’s not tea (herbs come from many different plants). Over time, the plant has protected itself from photosynthetic stressors by forming chemical compounds known as polyphenols. Polyphenols, which contain flavonoids, have the same advantageous class of compounds, antioxidants, that make fruits and vegetables excellent for you personally.
The distinction in green tea and oolong tea is processing. All tea is green when picked. Green tea is heated in order to halt the natural enzymatic reaction (oxidation) of the leaf. As soon as dried, green tea leaves are then rolled intentionally breaking the cell structure.Tea leaves are plucked, kept beneath carefully controlled conditions and allowed to oxidize. These leaves aren’t intentionally broken, leaving most of the cell structure intact. These processing differences make each category of tea beneficially various although they come from the same plant.
The Weight Loss Connection
The two primary ways to reduce food related body weight are; boost power expenditure (EE) and inhibit the absorption of nutrients, which includes fat and carbohydrates. Caffeine can be a stimulant so it really is widely accepted that the caffeine in tea increases metabolism, hence increasing EE. So the question becomes, is it only the caffeine or are other compounds in the tea contributing to that increase?
The Chinese have long believed that oolong tea is beneficial in reducing and keeping weight. A Chinese study, in 1998, of 102 females showed that continuous consumption of oolong tea for six weeks resulted in a reduction of body weight. This study, together with the question of other compounds contributing to tea’s weight loss benefits, spurred further research.
In 2001, Physiologist Dr. William Rumpler, of the US Agriculture Study Services’ Diet and Human Laboratory, investigated the ancient Chinese belief that tea is successful in controlling body weight. The study measured how tea influences power expenditure (EE) and included 12 male volunteers who were given 4 separate beverage formulas over three consecutive days. The beverage formulas consisted of; 1) full strength tea, 2) caffeinated water with caffeine equal to full strength tea, three) half strength oolong tea and 4) non caffeinated water.
The participants 24 hour EE was measured and resulted in;
- EE levels of about 3% increased when they drank either the full strength oolong tea or the caffeinated water versus the non caffeinated water.
- Participants burned an typical of 67 far more calories daily when drinking the full strength oolong tea.
- Participants increased fat oxidation (fat burning) by a whooping 12% following consuming the full strength oolong tea versus the caffeinated water.
- This information confirms that a component other than caffeine is responsible for promoting the preferential use of fat as an energy source.
The boost in fat oxidation in this study is remarkable! Drinking oolong tea can really tell your body to burn fat for power! Scientists then speculated that caffeine combined with EGCGs worked together to improve fat oxidation.
A Japanese study, conducted in 2003, went one step additional comparing the benefits of oolong tea and green tea on weight reduction. Eleven healthy young female students participated in this properly controlled study. Participants received three unique beverage formulas; 1) oolong tea, 2) powdered green tea leaves and three) water.
Both teas had been ready with boiling water. The oolong tea steeped for 5 minutes along with the powdered green tea leaves were dissolved.
Following measurements had been taken, the outcomes determined;
- Oolong tea had higher EE levels from starting to finish and at intervals of 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes.
- EE levels peaked at 90 minutes for each oolong and green tea and remained at their respective levels until 120 minutes.
- These results indicate that following consuming oolong tea you will expend additional energy then when you had been to drink green tea or water and that it can last up to two hours.
The concentrations of caffeine, individual catechins along with other polyphenols had been also measured producing these interesting findings;
- The caffeine and EGCG content material was much increased in the green tea versus the oolong tea.
- The concentration of polymerized polyphenols was considerably greater within the oolong tea versus the green tea.
These findings show that it’s the polymerized polyphenols, highest in oolong tea, that link tea to burning fat, not just the caffeine or just the mixture of caffeine and EGCGs. Furthermore, the rest of the compounds compared within the teas had been comparable or equal to 1 another with no marked differences, reinforcing the outcomes.
We have shown that oolong tea significantly increases EE for up to as much as 120 minutes and can even promote preferential use of fat as an energy source creating it a wholesome tool for reducing and maintaining weight. So what about absorption of nutrients?
Oolong tea’s impact on blocking the absorption of fats and carbohydrates is believed to play a key role in its weight reducing advantages. Whilst additional studies want to be performed, initial studies indicate that oolong tea has absorption blocking potential.
You will discover proven strategies for losing weight and keeping it off; exercise, acquiring sufficient sleep and consuming a balanced diet.Tea can enhance these positive changes and garner faster outcomes.
Let’s Face It
- Oolong tea isn’t a fast fix despite the current advertising claims by slick marketing “professionals.”
-Oolong tea does not need to be expensive to be successful. $39.95 is too a lot to pay for a 30 day supply of low quality oolong. Bear in mind to obtain what you pay for.
- These studies do not indicate that oolongs grown in a particular area are much better fat burners than other oolongs. It is the processing that counts.
- Losing 20 lbs in 30 days by adding two cups of tea to your every day routine is absolutely nothing much more than hype. If this had been true, I’d be a size 2.
- In case you had been dieting, drinking oolong and exercising it would be difficult to achieve that significantly weight loss in 30 days.
- If it sounds too excellent to be accurate, then it’s to great to be accurate!
